Juventus away
After Juventus lost 3-1 to the hosts, Real Madrid secured their place in the final with a 2-1 win over Everton. He was followed by Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) and Jonathan Viera (FC Valencia) with two goals. Three further games were played in Melbourne between 23 and 29 July, involving Juventus (Italy), Tottenham Hotspur (England), Atlético Madrid (Spain) and Melbourne Victory (Australia). For the first time, two mini-tournaments with three teams each were held in parallel under the same brand name in Australia (July 18-24) and China (July 25-30). No team was able to win all three games, the overall winner was Tottenham Hotspur with two wins against Rome and Milan and a defeat on penalties against Barcelona due to the better goal difference ahead of Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan, both of whom were also victorious twice. Group A included Manchester United, Inter Milan, AS Roma and defending champions Real Madrid. Third place was shared by Wayne Rooney (Man United), Ashley Young (Man United), Raheem Sterling (Liverpool FC), Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) and Francesco Totti (AS Roma) with two goals each.
During his time at Lazio, Laudrup appeared in all 60 league games.
